The thermoplastic flocking is a surface treatment process allowing to obtain plastic workpieces whose appearance is carpeted.
Lining of the glove boxes
Flocking is used in the automobile industry for lining vehicle glove boxes generally positioned high-end. Beyond the soft and pleasant appearance, flocking is particularly and durably resistant to abrasion.
Flocking can be used for other uses, especially for premium packaging and high-end POS. The method consists of applying to the plastic part injected a chemical finish for a second time in depositing an adhesive coating which then comes projecting nylon particles. Flocking can be used for other uses, in particular for premium packaging and high-end POS. The process consists of the application on the plastic workpiece injected by a chemical finish for a second time in depositing an adhesive cover on which we then project nylon particles.
These particles are polarized to be projected and laid down on the adhesive to the same orientation. Once everything is steamed, the workpiece is blown to be rid of surplus unanchored particles into the adhesive. It then has this aesthetic nice touch. The quality and regularity of the flocking lies in a perfect symbiosis between control of the injection and the expertise of operators. Thus, it is essential that the flocking is done in close collaboration with the injection.
Plast’avenir has two lines of flocking which can be used for manual or automated application, according to the technical possibilities and the expected volumes.
